The fire at Coast Capri Hotel this morning having an impact on operations at Kelowna International Airport.
Pilots and flight attendants of West Jet were staying at the hotel when the fire broke out just before 1:30am forcing the evacuation of the building.
"There is crew rest that is required. Because of the disruption, they were up for most of the night, with safety it's better they continue on resting."
Jenelle Hynes with YLW says West Jet planes that arrived overnight and were scheduled to be the first to fly out this morning had to be cancelled.
Hynes says those passengers have all been rebooked and will be flying out throughout the day to their destinations.
