The hot weather in the Okanagan is taking it's toll on poorly maintained vehicles.
We saw two fires on the Connector this weekend as temperatures reached the high 30's.
Ron Smith owns and operates Dynamic Westside Auto Repair and Transmission and says the climb up the Connector isn't easy, even for newer vehicles.
"It is a very stressful long haul and on the hot days vehicles really struggle going up the Connector in particular. So if you have anything that is not up to par, going on a long trip, summer vacation, long driving, that's when it is going to show up".
Smith recommends a maintenance check, specifically for older vehicles, before making the trip to the coast should be a priority.
