Lake Country's Lodge Road Transportation Corridor has received a much needed facelift to the tune of $1.5 million dollars.
The Lodge Road Transportation Corridor Project was completed in August 2012, aimed at increasing safety at the intersection of Lodge Rd. and Bottom Wood Lake Rd. following a number of fatal accidents in recent years.
The new upgrades were officially celebrated Wednesday, September 5th at an unveiling ceremony that saw local dignitaries and politicians on hand to show support.
"Our Government is proud to deliver permanent annual infrastructure funding for municipalities through Canada's Gas Tax Fund," said Kelowna-Lake Country MP Ron Cannan.
Upgrades include a new roundabout, bike lanes, sidewalks and a new pedestrian bridge at Vernon Creek, funded through Canada's Gas Tax Fund.
The upgrades not only make the area much safer, but also better connect the community.
