Peachland Wildfire Near Greata Ranch Winery Fully Contained

A one-hectare wildfire broke out just south of Peachland on Tuesday afternoon.

According to Officials, two attack crews and two helicopters were on the scene battling the blaze adjacent to Highway 97. The fire burned a group of trees near the Greata Ranch Winery, but was contained within three hours.

Fortunately, there was no immediate threat to structures in the area.

The fire reportedly began on the stove of a fifth wheel trailer parked on a nearby beach.
