Hockeyville co-chairs up for Diamond Jubilee
It looks as if the co-chairs in the West Kelowna Bid for Hockeyville will be recognized for all their efforts.
Adam Less and Andrew Deans have been nominated for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Medal.
Deans says it was Okanagan Coquihalla MP Dan Albas who nominated them.
"He phoned us and said, hey I nominated you guys and appreciated all the work you guys did. A lot of community leaders like Chief Robert Louie of Westbank First Nations, of course MP Dan Albas, and our MLA Ben Stuart, were at a lot of the events that we did."
Neither Deans or Less know if they will actually be presented with the award this weekend, but Less is blown away that it could happen.
"When do you ever have the opportunity to be honoured that way. It's just an amazing thing. Of course Hockeyville was something that was the result of so many peoples work. You almost feel a little bit odd being singled out."
West Kelowna didn't win Hockeyville, they actually second in the competition.
Both Less and Deans will be at Westside Daze this Saturday with other nominees for the medal.
