BC Wine Institute applauding provincial government for changes to wine trade legislation
The BC Wine Institute is applauding the provincial government for taking the first step in breaking down wine trade barriers.
Executive Director, Miles Prodan says when Bill 311 received Royal Assent last month, it became up to provinces and territories to determine what form shipping alcohol across country would take.
Prodan says the BC Liberals have lived up to the spirit of the changes to the federal legislation.
"The other provinces? I think they'll see their way through it. To date, Alberta and Manitoba are allowing that to go through. They haven't officially announced any changes to legislation but they aren't far away."
Prodan thinks Ontario will join the movement soon.
