Progress is being made in battling the Wilson's Landing wildfire.

Fire Information Officer Kayla Pepper says crews have managed to get the blaze 20 per cent contained and it is now at an estimated size of just over 26 hectares,

Pepper says they will continue to establish a hand guard on the north and south flank of the fire.

"The perimeter of the fire is covered in retardent and we also are tying into Westside Road which is an existing fuel break for us."

Pepper says 10 personnel and a water tender will remain on site overnight.
