Coroner's inquest for in police custody death slated for next week
A coroner's inquest will be held next week for a man who died while in police custody two years ago.
Brandt Jason Zimmer passed away on August 15, 2010.
The inquest was slated to take place back in June but was delayed.
Police responded to Grand Prix family fun centre after receiving reports that Zimmer, who appeared to be delirious, was yelling at customers in his underwear.
Investigation revealed Kelowna RCMP did nothing wrong in the arrest of the 40 year old.
The jury will be making recommendations aimed at preventing deaths under similar circumstances.
