RCMP Constable testifies at Mantler Trial
Trial Day 3
More video evidence played in a Kelowna Courtroom on Wednesday as the trial of Suspended RCMP Constable Geoff Mantler continued.
Constable Robyn Boffy, the constable who placed the handcuffs on Buddy Tavares, was cross examined by Defense Counsel Neville McDougall about her training in relation to high risk situations and what police call a Code 5 take down or arrest.
The witness testified as to the rigorous training undertaken by police cadets at the RCMP Depot in Saskatchewan.
Defense also played video evidence, frame by frame, asking the witness to point out specific moments relating to the position of Tavares and Constable Mantler prior to the now infamous kick to the head.
Testimony is expected to continue on Thursday.
