Yonkman looking at full time status in NHL
Having just turned 30, Nolan Yonkman knows his window of playing full time at the NHL level is closing.
Yonkman signed a two year contract with the Florida Panthers this summer and believes he has a legitimate shot at cracking the lineup.
Yonkman admits injuries have plagued him over his pro career.
"Early in my career with Washington I kinda hit an injury bug there for a few years there which probably closed my window with them. But I feel good about coming back and its the right place and a right time and we hope this is the right fit in Florida".
Yonkman played four seasons with the Kelowna Rockets and has the distinction of scoring the first ever goal by a Rockets player at Prospera Place.
Last season, Yonkman played 16 games in the NHL with the Phoenix Coyotes.
