People are still building homes in the Vernon area, but we're seeing fewer multi-unit projects.

Construction started on 18 homes, compared with 20 last July, but
 there were only four multiple-unit projects down from a dozen in 2010.

Overall construction is down 44 per cent in Vernon so far this year.

It's a different picture in the Kelowna area. 173 projects,
up from 64 at the same time last year.  Year to date Kelowna is down just 4 per cent.  Penticton is down over 70 per cent.
