Kelowna Rockets defenceman Madison Bowey is off to Toronto in advance of the start of training camp for Canada's Under 18 team.
Bowey is one of thirteen WHL players competing for a spot on this years squad.
"To make this team and wear Canadian colours would be a tremendous honour. That is what I am hoping to do is represent my country well".
Bowey is entering his second season in the Western Hockey League and is considered to be a first round pick in next summers NHL draft.
"Ever since I got the call that I got the invite, I have been on the ice about two to three times a week and working out every day so I have been trying to get mentally and physically prepared to obviously make this team and have a good camp", Bowey added.
