The future of the Kelowna Rockets is on display over the next few days at the Capital News Centre.
Rookie camp is in full swing under the watchful eye of general manager Bruce Hamilton.
"We are very conscious of the fact of hits to the head and checks from behind and of course their is no fighting allowed at this. The guys are loosened up to just play, so we are looking for guys that skate and size is obviously a big factor with me."
Rookie camp enables Rockets fans to see Nick Merkley, the teams first round pick in this summers WHL Bantam draft. In fact, all but one player from this summers draft failed to make it to rookie camp.
"All of them are here but one, Christian Cakebreak from Arizona. His team is playing in Phoenix so he wasn't able to get away, but I am confident we will get him in this winter to see a game. I am looking forward to seeing our first pick (Nick) young Merkley play and Gatenby our second round pick," Hamilton added.
