Who wants to play hookey today? What an absolutely gorgeous day outside! Doubley nice after the grey rain of yesterday - was hard to stay focussed this afternoon. Love that spring is basically here but I am so not ready for yard work. Raking, aerating, seeding, watering (only on allotted days of course), whateverelsing... Plus I had two Cedar Trees die over the winter. This makes me angry. Not because of the work I will have to do to replace them but now two trees will be smaller than all of the others. OCD. Right now I have chosen to keep the blinds looking into the back yard closed - if I ignore it - it will go away. Or maybe some one wants to do the work for me? Anyone...?

In other news - I received a jury summons. Does this seem like a good idea to you? Me, a talk show host of a current affairs magazine style radio show...on a NEWS TALK SPORTS radio station?! Yah me neither, but we shall see. I have sent in the appropriate papers to the appropriate authorities making not of the appropriate information. The question is will they pay appropriate attention...? Stay tuned

Welcome back to Monday! So the question I have for you is deep down inside...really, truly...did you expect the men's hockey team to beat the U-S? After watching their play against Norway and the Swiss I was nervous. The cocky talk made me nervous, the boasting - yup that too - made me nervous. I'm not a big believer in trash talking or cockiness. I am a believer in actions and how they speak volumes more than any words. Whether its sports or life. And the Canadian men did not seem to be performing to what should have been their 'dream team' (at least on paper) potential. Add to that Brodeur who clearly was not at the top of his game and a coach (Babcock) who refused to acknowledge that and act upon it we get a 5-3 loss. Not surprised, the team that played the best won. Perhaps Canadian hockey players and coaches should stop behaving and talking like it is their God given right to win against any other country.

What an experience to be in the same rooms as Order of Canada members, notable authors and dignitaries, performers, artists. No I did not take an overnight trip to an Olympic event in Vancouver. I was at Summerhill Winery for the Black History Month event last night. I encourage you to take in some of the events (click
here for more details) or do a little research on your own - you may be surprised at how much in common you have with Black History. You could also listen to my show!!

Phew! Am I ever glad its Fat Tuesday! Is there one every week? - in my world maybe! It Shrove/Fat/Pancake Tuesday today - AKA Mardi Gras. The last day for you to over-indulge before Ash Wednesday and the beginning of lent. You know the time of year when you give something up for the next 40 days and then just when you can't take it anymore and you are thinking of eating all the powdered hot chocolate in the second floor staff kitchen - BAM its Easter and Mini Eggs abound. Sooo what are you giving up? Fat? Alcohol? Chocolate? COFFEE!!?? How about social media sites...now that would be a very quiet 40 days...

Dear Fellow Driver: So sorry I couldn't let you into my lane after you raced through the light and up ahead the line of cars. Don't you think its funny that after all your speeding you ended up in the exact spot you started in? True you would have been one car ahead if I had let you in, but I just couldn't do it. I have an adverse reaction to being forced to do something - funnily enough I tend to do the very opposite thing!
Thank you so much for shining you brights in my rearview mirror for the remaining blocks you were behind me. It really allowed me to see more clearly - you're a jerk.
