The Interior Health Authority has hit a milestone.

Senior Medical Health Officer Doctor Andrew Larder says they've pushed over 200 thousand doses of the H1N1 vaccine.

Larder says he's pleased to see so many people have gone out to get the shot.  He tells us, "We've now provided protection to 28 percent of the entire population, and that is really, really good news."

He says the current wave of H1N1 activity appears to be reaching a peak, but a resurgence of infections could be on the way.

We may have passed the peak, but H1N1 is still circulating out there.  People will continue to get infected.  We will see more [hospital] admissions, and a few deaths."

That's why they're still encouraging anyone who has not gotten the vaccine to do so as soon as possible.  A clinic is open until 5pm on Friday at K-L-O Secondary School.
