Protest against homeless attack
A group of Kelowna residents will be gathering at Orchard Plaza Monday afternoon to stand up for the community's homeless.
The protest is in response to an unprovoked attack on a homeless man just over a week ago. A group of thugs swarmed the 41 year old victim and mercilessly kicked him in the face, stomach and legs. He was left with several injuries, including a broken nose.
The victim was screaming for help, but shoppers in the area apparently ignored the attack.
The man managed to get to a bus stop. A bus driver picked him up, saw his injuries, and called the police.
RCMP are still hoping those witnesses will come forward.
Monday's demonstration starts at 5pm in the Zellers parking lot. Protesters will march to the bus stop at Orchard Park Mall. That's how far the victim had to walk in order to receive some help.
