No one was hurt after a fire broke out at OK Builders Supplies on McCurdy Road.
Fire crews were called to the area just before 2:00 pm today.
Kelowna Fire Department Platoon Captain Dennis Miller says the fire was inside a mixing plant, located on site.
“Inside the batch plant is a steel hopper and between the steel hopper and the exterior siding is a layer of insulation, and that’s what was burning," he said "so we had to actually rip off the exterior siding to get to that insulation”.
He says one worker was inside the plant when the fire broke out, but they got out safely.
Miller says they don't know the cause yet, but it’s not believed to be suspicious.
He said the damage is also believed to be limited.
