The city has a potential buyer of the lot at Ellis Street and Lawrence Avenue, which was put up for sale last July.
The city says it can't discuss the details of the sale until it's complete, which will likely still take a number of months.
A manager with the city's real estate group says it's looking positive for the property to be developed.
When the city announced the lot would be going up for sale, it said the intent was to find a developer to construct a new residential unit.
