Kelowna RCMP arrest man for hotel mischief

Security guard also allegedly assaulted

A 33-year-old man was arrested by Kelowna RCMP for causing damage at a couple of hotels on the weekend. 

It began at around 2:00 am Saturday, Jan. 21st, when police were called to the Sandman Hotel, in the 2100 block of Harvey Avenue, where a man had reportedly attacked a security guard, pulled the building's fire alarm and stole a fire extinguisher.

As officers were responding, they recieved an update that a man was smashing glass, setting off the fire alarm and spraying a fire extinguisher at the neighbouring Ramada Hotel.

A 33-year-old man was eventually arrested and a search turned up suspected drugs and drug paraphernalia.

The suspect, of no fixed address, was to appear in court Monday, Jan. 23rd facing several charges.
