Kelowna RCMP arrest two people and recover a stolen truck

Pickup had been stolen from Vernon hotel parking lot

Kelowna RCMP have arrested two people this week and recovered a stolen truck.

Corporal Jesse O'Donaghey says on Wednesday afternoon, plainclothes officers spotted a mid-90's white Ford pick-up truck parked near what police have identified as a 'problem residence' and determined it had been stolen overnight Wednesday from a hotel parking lot in Vernon.

O'Donaghey says a man and a woman were later arrested when the vehicle pulled into a gas station at Highway 33 and Dougall Road in Rutland.

"35-year-old Darcy William Every, of the Shuswap area, was held in police custody overnight and appeared in Court earlier today. He now faces the following charges of possession of stolen property, theft of a motor vehicle, breach of a Probation Order and possession of a controlled substance," says O'Donaghey. "He has since been remanded into custody and is expected to appear in Court next on February 2nd."

He saya a 30-year-old Kamloops woman was also arrested and faces potential charges.

She was released and will appear in court at a later date.
