Crash happened on Highway 97, northwest of Vernon
A West Kelowna woman was killed in a head-on crash on Highway 97 over the weekend.
The collision involving a car and a pick-up truck occurred Saturday afternoon near Monte Lake.
Mounties say, the 85-year-old woman from West Kelowna who was driving the car was declared dead at the scene.
The two people in the truck, a 27-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman from Kamloops, were not injured.
Police say an initial examination found that the collision happened in a curve where the car encroached into the opposite lane and the investigation is ongoing.
