A man who robbed a Kelowna bank a year ago has been given jail time.

38-year-old Michael Craswell pleaded guilty to robbery last October and was sentenced to 2 years and 11 months in prison on Thursday.

On March 21, 2016 he walked into the Scotiabank on Lakeshore Road, gave a handwritten note to a teller and said he had a gun.

He got away by foot with an undisclosed amount of money but was arrested in New Brunswick a month later.

In addition to time in jail he's also been ordered to pay a 200 dollar victim surcharge fee and is prohibited from having firearms.
