Kelowna man sentenced in 2016 machete attack

The Kelowna man responsible for a vicious machete attack on another man last summer – and for assaulting his ex-girlfriend on two occasions – has been sentenced.

29-year-old Derrick Kurtis Antoine was sentenced Monday, March 20th to time served and placed under two years probation. 

He pleaded guilty to several charges after attacking Matt LeBlanc on August 8th, 2016 in which LeBlanc was slashed across the face with a machete.

Antoine was also charged for attacking his ex-girlfriend with a weapon a few days later on August 16th, and for assaulting her in another incident earlier in the year.
