Two women were attacked on Tuesday
Kelowna RCMP are looking for a man involved in two purse snatchings in the last 24 hours.
The first incident happened Tuesday at 2:50 pm in the 1600 block of Richter Street where a woman, walking in a parking lot, was approached by a male in his 20's who grabbed her purse and ran off.
Bystanders heard the woman scream and one was able to recover the purse after the suspect dropped it .
The second incident happened at 8:45 pm, near Gordon Drive and Pacific Avenue, where a man grabbed a woman's purse from her walker.
Police say she hung onto the purse and was thrown to the ground, and as the suspect ran away he removed her wallet and tossed the purse aside. The victim suffered minor injuries.
Police are looking for a Caucasian male with a thin build and short, light brown hair. He was wearing a dark hoody and blue jeans.
Constable Steve Holmes says "police are actively investigating these incidents and believe the suspect involved in both occurrences may be the same individual. We want to solidify our investigation by obtaining as much eye witness and/or video surveillance information as we can, so to that end, we are asking anyone who may have witnessed either of these events, or may have video footage from a business located near the scenes, to contact police. In particular, any businesses located in the 1600 block of Richter Street and intersecting Lawrence Avenue, or any business located on Gordon Drive at Highway 97 south to Pacific Avenue."
The suspect is described as a Caucasian male, in his 20s, thin build, short, light brown hair. Wearing a dark hoody/jacket and blue jeans.
