Over 173,000 people came through the airport last month 14.2 more people than March 2016.
There were more passengers at the Kelowna International Airport this past March than any other month in the airport's history.
Over 173,000 people came through the airport last month- 14.2% more people than March 2016.
It continues a record-breaking trend for the airport, which has set new passenger numbers every month since January 2016, except for April.
With a late ski season and late Easter weekend, Airport Director Sam Samaddar thinks a new record could be set for this April.
“April is our softest month as we transition from winter into spring,” he says “and certainly last April we saw some smaller numbers but certainly with the trend, the way it’s going, we’re expecting that April could become certainly a much stronger month than it was last year”
The airport had forecast a growth of only 3% for this year.
