Men charged in Bacon murder trying to have charges thrown out

The trial of three men charged in the Kelowna murder of gangster Jonathan Bacon has been delayed again.

The trial of three men charged in the Kelowna murder of gangster Jonathan Bacon has been delayed again.

After most recently being set for May 1, the trial is now pending an application by the defendants to have the charges dropped because it's taken too long to go to trial.

Jujhar Khun-Khun, Michael Jones, and Jason McBride face a long list of charges, including murder, in connection to the fatal shooting of Bacon outside the Delta Grand Hotel in 2011.

They've been in custody since their arrest in 2013.

A judge will hear the application to throw out the charges beginning May 15.

If unsuccessful, the trial, which is expected to take several months, is set to go ahead on May 24.
