Snow still a possibility on upper elevation highways

More snow could fall at Pennask Summit on Okanagan Connector

Environment Canada continues to warn about snow on the mountain passes.

Meteorologist Cindy Yu says a special weather statement is in effect for Highway 3 – Hope to Princeton through the Allison Pass and Paulson Summit to Kootenay Pass – and on the Connector between Kelowna and Merritt..

"Pennask or Kootenay Pass may still see some snow by this afternoon. We are expecting potentially another 5 or 10 cms of snow at those higher elevations," she says.

Yu says overnight, Pennask Summit received 10 cms.

For Kelowna, Yu says there's a good chance of showers today, tonight and part of tomorrow – but a high pressure ridge is building – and she says from Thursday through Sunday it's nothing but sunshine and temperatures will hit the mid-20's by Sunday.
