A Kelowna woman is facing charges after she allegedly made threats against two Okanagan MLAs.

The BC Prosecution Service announced today that Pavla Janeckova has been charged with uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm.

The nature of the threats have not been revealed, but the BC Prosecution Service say they occurred on or about April 30, 2017 and were directed at Premier Christy Clark and Speaker Steve Thomson.

The charges were approved by special prosecutor Kris Pechet, a New Westminster private lawyer, who was appointed to avoid any potential real or perceived improper influence given the nature of the allegations.

Janeckova makes her first court appearance on Friday.
