Surrey truck driver arrested in West Kelowna

Tips to police about swerving semi lead to arrest

Tips to police about a fully-loaded tractor trailer, swerving all over the 3500 block of Carrington Road in West Kelowna, led to the arrest of a man – who now faces possible criminal charges.

On Sunday at 8:45 pm, West Kelowna RCMP caught up with the semi, which was hauling 100,000 pounds of lumber, near the Auburn Road industrial park.

The driver failed a roadside breath test, and samples taken later at the Kelowna RCMP detachment, came back at 2 times over the legal limit.

A 41-year-old Surrey man was handed a driving prohibition, and faces possible impaired driving charges.

He has a court date in September.
