May another record month for airport

16,000 more travelers fly through Kelowna vs May 2016

Another month, another record mark for monthly passengers at the Kelowna International Airport.

The latest numbers show more than 143,000 passengers came through Kelowna in May, which is a nearly 13% increase from May 2016.

It's the 14th straight month the airport has set a monthly record – the last time that didn't happen was April of last year.

This year was also the first year since 2014 where April drew more passengers than May, with a difference of roughly 3200.

Kelowna set an all-time record for passengers back in March, when over 173,500 people came through.

For the airport to set a 15th straight record this month, the number to beat is 135,069.
