It was a hot weekend in Kelowna

But no records set in the city

It was hot in the Okanagan, on the weekend, but not hot enough to break any records.

Environment Canada's Matt MacDonald says Kelowna hit 31.6 on Saturday and 33 on Sunday – but that didn't come close to the weekend records of 36 and 38 set in 1992.

Across the province, he says temperature records fell in Quesnel, Willimas Lake, Cache Creek and Clinton – and also in Abbotsford, Chilliwack and Hope.

McDonald says for Kelowna, it'll be cooler Tuesday before heating up again on the weekend.

"Temperatures are going to subside tomorrow, as the flow shifts to on-shore and we get that Pacific air moving over the Interior, so highs of about 26 for the next few days – and then as we approach the weekend – we'll get back into the 30's, so a nice long stretch of summer-like weather," he says.

MacDonald says it'll be windy Monday and Tueday, with gusts up to 50-kilometres-an-hour, which could create some high waves on Okanagan Lake – but there's no risk of rain – which is good news for those still facing flooding.
