Caller claims to be raising money for Cops for Kids
BC RCMP are warning the public about the emergence of a phone scam.
The scam involves a person who calls and solicits donations for the Cops for Kids charity.
But the RCMP say both they and the Cops for Kids foundation don't engage in any kind of cold call fundraising over the phone.
The Cops for Kids ride relies on team members to do their own personal fundraising, or securely online through copsforkids.org.
