Last month was airports second busiest of 2017
Kelowna International Airport continues to see a record number of passengers fly through its terminal.
Last month, the airport reported 163,751 passengers, which is an increase of 9% over last July.
That's on par with the roughtly 9% increase the airport has seen in passengers over the first half of this year.
Earlier this summer, officials had concerns about whether flooding and nearby fires would have a large impact on travellers.
But July's mark makes it the second busiest month of the year, with only March having a higher number.
August is typically the second busiest month of the airport's year, as it tries to set a monthly passenger record for the 17th consecutive time.
To do that, it'll have to surpass last year's mark of just under 161,000 people.
