Blood donations needed

With the Labour Day long weekend approaching, Canadian Blood Services is looking for your help.

With the Labour Day long weekend approaching, Canadian Blood Services is looking for your help.

Blood donations often decrease in the summer months and residents are asked to book an appointment.

Canadian Blood Services says 25 thousand appointments need to be filled by Labour Day including 400 in the Kelowna area.

Territory Manager Gayle Voyer, based in Kelowna, says giving blood is simple.

"We make it easy for you. Our staff walk you through the process. You just bring photo I.D.  You will do a little questionnaire when you come into the clinic and then we take you through a screening process and then your donation time takes only between five and 15 minutes".

The next blood donor clinic in Kelowna is Wednesday from 11 am until 6 pm at the Dilworth Drive location.
