Chance of more flurries on highway passes

Connector, Rogers Pass Kootenay Pass could see snow tonight

A cold airmass associated with an upper low has caused freezing levels to drop bringing light snow to the Okanagan Connector, Rogers Pass and Kootenay Pass.

Environment Canada's Special Weather Statement for the highway passes remains in effect.

Meteorologist Alyssa Charbonneau says there is the potential for more flurries tonight into Thursday morning on the Connector, between Kelowna and Merritt.

"The greatest chance for those accumulations would be for Kootenay Pass, but there is the potential for a couple of centimetres of wet, slushy snow," she says.

Charbonneau says by Friday, temperatures will be more seasonal with daytime highs near 18 and overnight lows around 6.
