Suspect may be linked to other crimes
West Kelowna RCMP are searching the neighbourhood around Mission Hill Winery Thursday afternoon for a man who allegedly fled from police.
Corporal Jesse O'Donaghey says shortly before 1:00 pm, officers responded to reports of a possible impaired driver in the 1500 block of Merlot Drive – but the suspect took off.
He says police believe the man may be linked to other crimes in West Kelowna.
The suspect is described as Caucasian, slender, about 5-foot-7, 140 lbs, with short hair – he was last seen wearing grey sweat pants, a black t-shirt and flat brimmed hat.
Callers to AM 1150 News report police had several streets blocked in the area.
