Quick work by neighbours and fuel management keep fire to a small size
A wildfire was kept to a small size in West Kelowna late yesterday afternoon, thanks to quick action by fire crews, residents and wildfire fuel management over the past several years.
The fire, just off a well used hiking trail at the edge of Rose Ridge Court was called in just after 4:00pm. Fire crews were assisted by nearby residents who hiked in and worked the fire with shovels before West Kelowna firefighters got there to finish the job. No cause has been determined.
