Power still out for many on Westside Road

2400 affected between Wilsons Landing and Okanagan Indian Band

Nearly 2400 customers up Westside Road are still without power, after heavy winds knocked trees into utility lines yesterday.

The outage extends from Shelter Cove in the south, up to Six Mile Creek Road, on the Okanagan Indian Band land in the north.

BC Hydro crews are working at two different locations to restore that power, which is expected to happen between 2:30 and 3:30 this afternoon.

Over 300 customers are still waiting to get the lights back on in Lake Country, as crews are working on restoring power lines in 10 different locations.

82 customers in Okanagan Centre should get it back around 3 pm, though estimates for other locations have yet to be made.

Lastly, power is expected to be restored to a handful of homes still without in Westbank and West Kelowna.
