Staff proposes making all stops wheelchair accessible
The District of Lake Country is looking to make all of its bus stops wheelchair accessible.
Right now, only 13 of 54 bus stops have been upgraded – but the district has committed to converting 16 stops over the next five years.
On Tuesday, staff will ask council to consider spending $120,000, over the same time period, to upgrade the rest.
Money for the upgrades, which include things like wheelchair pads, comes from the taxpayer funded Transportation for Tomorrow program.
