BC Coroners Service now investigating Rutland fire
Kelowna RCMP have turned over their investigation into a deadly house fire to the BC Coroners Service.
Corporal Jesse O'Donaghey says an investigation of the fire scene has allowed police to deem the fire and death as non-suspicious – the blaze is believed to be accidental in nature.
Kelowna firefighters discovered a body inside a home on Gaggin Road in Rutland on Monday night while battling the blaze.
At this time, the BC Coroners Service is not releasing any information about the victim.
