Kelowna RCMP, Fire and BC Coroners Service investigating

Kelowna RCMP, the Kelowna Fire Department and the BC Coroners Service are investigating a deadly house fire Monday night.

Shortly after 9:30 pm, emergency crews were called to a house fire on Gaggin Road – and after battling the blaze – firefighters conducted a search and found a body inside.

RCMP Corporal Jesse O'Donaghey says the investigation is in the very early stages.

"Specially trained fire investigators, with both the RCMP and Kelowna Fire Department, will be examining the scene alongside the BC Coroners Service today and they'll continue their efforts to determine the cause of the blaze and identify the deceased individual found inside the home," he says.

O'Donaghey says anyone with information is asked to contact Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300.
