Snowfall warning for mountain passes

1520 cm today on Coq, Hwy 3 Hwy 1

Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for the mountain passes.

The weather office says a frontal system will move across the BC interior today bringing up to 20 cm of snow to the Coquihalla Highway between Hope and Merritt – Highway 3 from Paulson Summit to Kootenay Pass – and the Trans-Canada from Eagle Pass to Rogers Pass.

A warm front will start things off this morning with light accumulations – then it'll get heavier this afternoon as the cold front passes. The snow is expected to ease overnight.

Be prepared for changing road conditions – and poor visibility in heavy snow.
