District meeting with residents about land near Gable Beach
Lake Country's plan to sell surplus waterfront lots, and put the money towards the district's $2.5-million dollar debt to Kelowna is the focus of a meeting Thursday.
The money is owed as part of the deal to buy an abandoned CP rail-line to create the Okanagan Rail Trail.
Carr's Landing residents opposing the plan will be there – they want the three properties north of Gable Beach Park kept for public use.
A petition opposing the sale has about 13-hundred signatures.
