Storm Warning has ended for Okanagan

Snowfall amounts vary across the valley

Environment Canada says the Winter Storm Warning has ended for the Okanagan.

Meteorologist Jonathan Bau says the storm system dropped a good amount of snow in the valley.

Final numbers aren't in yet, but as of this morning, Kelowna received between 5 and 15 cms – Vernon around 10 to 20 – and 15 cms in Penticton.

Bau says as usual, the mountain passes received the most with between 30 and 40 cms on the Coquihalla – 40 at Pennask Summit on the Connector with similar amounts on the Kootenay and Allison passes.

He says there's a chance of a few more centimetres of snow on Thursday before it gets clear and cold for the first half of the weekend..

"Now, Christmas Day into Boxing Day – we have a low pressure system that's approaching the coast, and at this time, there's a possiblilty that it could spread some flurries into the Interior for Christmas and Boxing Day," he says.

While the snow has ended today – DriveBC still has Travel Advisories in effect for the Coquihalla and the Connector.
