Lake Country woman in critical condition after crash in Kelowna

63yearold was driving on Clement Ave. at time of singlevehicle crash

A woman from Lake Country is in critical condition following a single vehicle crash in Kelowna Tuesday night.

RCMP Corporal Jesse O'Donaghey says it happened just before 7:00 pm in the eastbound lanes of Clement Avenue just west of Spall Road.

He says "initial findings at the crash scene suggest that the dark grey Volkswagen EOS, operated by a 63-year-old woman, had been travelling eastbound on Clement Avenue when it suddenly left the roadway and impacted a large metal hydro pole."

O'Donaghey says police do NOT believe alcohol or drugs were factors – but in talking with family members – officers believe a medical emergency may have contributed to the crash.

He says if you witnessed the crash, and have not yet spoken to police, you are asked to contact Cst. Greg Levorson of the Kelowna RCMP Municipal Traffic Section at 250-762-3300.
