Annual triathlon returns to Kelowna

Some road closures will be in effect.

The fourth annual Fresh Air Kelowna Cherry Blossom Triathlon will be taking place this Sunday, May 6th.

The event begins with a 700 meter swim at the H2O Aquatic Centre, followed by a 22 kilometer bike route, and wraps up with a 5 kilometer run.

All proceeds from the race go to the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign.

To accommodate participants in the race, there will be a number of road closures in effect from 5 AM to 12:30 PM.

Some of these road closures include:

  •          Northbound traffic on Gordon Drive from Old Meadows Road to Casorso Road
  •          Eastbound traffic on Casorso Road from Gordon Drive to Swamp Road
  •          Right turn lane on Dehart Road to Gordon Drive
  •          Northbound traffic on Gordon Drive from Dehart Road to Tozer Avenue

Traffic control personnel and RCMP will be present to direct traffic.
