TSB to present reports findings Thursday morning
The Transportation Safety Board of Canada is ready to publicize its investigation into the plane crash north of Kelowna that killed former Alberta premier Jim Prentice.
The crash happened on the night of October 13th 2016, after Prentice took off from Kelowna International at 9:30, with pilot Jim Kruk, and friends Dr. Ken Gellatly and Sheldon Reid.
Shortly after liftoff, the Cessna Citation crashed into the woods northeast of Lake Country, and 11 km north of the airport. Nobody on board survived.
The plane was heading back to Springbank Airport, just outside of Calgary.
Due to the size of the plane, it was not required to have either flight data or cockpit voice recorders installed.
In the days following the crash, the TSB publicly reaffirmed its belief that the equipment should be mandatory on more aircraft.
Crash investigators will present their findings at a news conference in Calgary Thursday morning.
