IHA introduces mapping website

A mapping system to better understand water advisories.

Interior Health has developed a new website detailing drinking water advisories.

Calling it 'a first of its kind project in Canada', residents will be able to look at a real-time, interactive water advisory map which outlines the reasons for an advisory.

The map will also allow individuals up-to-date information on their water quality.

"Not everyone across IH has peace of mind that the water that comes out of their tap is safe. With this map, individuals are provided accessible and up-to-date information on their water quality,” says IH Chief Medical Health Officer Dr. Trevor Corneil. “If there’s an advisory on their system, they can make informed decisions related to possible health risks. Not everyone across IH has peace of mind that the water that comes out of their tap is safe. With this map, individuals are provided accessible and up-to-date information on their water quality”.

The website can be found at: drinkingwaterforeveryone.ca
