3 new havens coming to Greenway
The Kelowna bike sharing project is less than a week old and already it's expanding. On Thursday, the Board of the Regional District gave approval to set up 3 new ‘havens’ in the Mission Creek Greenway.
At Lakeshore Road, the Mission Sports Fields and at the Environmental Education Centre.
'Havens' are where Dropbike users can pick up and drop off the rental bikes without occurring a penalty charge on their account. The City of Kelowna placed a few hundred bikes at close to 40 downtown locations on Monday, launching the program.
Over the next 18 months there could be as many as 1500 Dropbikes distributed as the service area expands.
