Suspect is believed to have been driving a blue BMW
Kelowna RCMP are investigating a hit and run that left a man seriously injured on Rutland Road North Friday afternoon.
At 2:26 PM, emergency crews responded to a report of a collision between a pedestrian and a navy blue BMW I Series. They arrived to find to find the pedestrian lying unconscious with serious injuries on the street. He was taken to hospital in serious condition.
The driver of the BMW was last seen driving east on McCurdy Road, with significant damage reported to the car.
The incident caused traffic to be diverted from Wallace to Fitzpatrick to allow investigators to gather evidence at the scene.
Any witnesses to the crash are asked to contact the Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300. The public is also asked not to approach the suspect or his vehicle if they see him, but to instead call police immediately.
